Our Favorite Books at CP Early Education & Care

Summer is here, and with kids out of school, there's lots of energy and excitement. One of the best ways to keep kids entertained during these sunny months is through story time. 

But with so many books out there, how do you pick the right ones? We have some CP Early Education & Care teachers' favorite books to share. These picks are perfect for making summer story time a fun experience.

Around the Farm by Eric Carle (ages 1-2)
A fun book that takes kids on a tour of the farm, introducing them to different animals and their sounds. The book includes a sound panel, so kids can press buttons to hear the animals.

Hooray for Fish by Lucy Cousins (ages 1-3)
A colorful book where Little Fish introduces readers to a variety of fishy friends in a vibrant underwater world.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle (ages 1-3) 


A classic tale of a caterpillar who eats his way through different foods before transforming into a beautiful butterfly.

Little Quack by Lauren Thompson (ages 1-3)
A sweet story about a duckling who overcomes his fear of swimming with the help of his siblings and some gentle encouragement. 

Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert (ages 1-4) 
An engaging book that takes readers through the process of planting and growing a colorful garden.

I Went Walking b
y Sue Williams (ages 1-5)
A story where a child goes on a walk and discovers various animals along the way.

The Hike by Alison Farrell (ages 2-5)
An adventure where three friends embark on a hike, exploring and learning about nature.

The Wide Mouthed Frog by Keith Faulkner (ages 2-4)
A pop-up book about a curious frog who asks other animals what they eat, helping kids learn about other animals.


If I Was the Sunshine by Julie Fogliano (ages 3-5)
